Apple Pie Jaffles
A delicious apple, raisin and almond treat that's perfect with a big scoop of ice cream.

Recipe Ingredients
- 5 SPAR Freshline green apples, peeled and cubed
- 100 g (125 ml) SPAR brown sugar
- 80 ml almond liqueur (Amaretto), optional
- 100 g raisins
- 12 slices SPAR Bakery white bread
- 60 ml softened SPAR butter
- 100 g flaked almonds
- 65 g (125 ml) SPAR icing sugar
- SPAR ice-cream for serving
Recipe Method
- Mix apples, sugar, liqueur and raisins.
- Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter. Place one slice at a time in jaffle iron, buttered side facing down.
- Spoon apple mixture on top.
- Sprinkle some almonds on top and dust with ample icing sugar.
- Place second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up. Close iron and trim off excess bread.
- Fry over low heat for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
- Remove from iron and make more jaffles with the rest of the bread and filling.
- Serve warm with ice-cream.
